As we approach our 150th anniversary, we have conducted a comprehensive strategic planning process to guide our growth for decades to come. We are seeking individuals who can help Missouri S&T make our mark as we implement a bold initiative of hiring 100 additional faculty in all areas of the university.
“Missouri S&T’s Strategy for Success” is not about being everything to everyone. It is making the difficult decisions to support a focused, strategic vision for the future.
Through this planning process, we have identified four multidisciplinary “signature” focus areas where we already excel and with investment, can become eminent, world-class leaders. These areas represent some of the greatest challenges of our time.

This signature area plays a critical role in improving the nation’s existing transportation, nuclear and utility infrastructure in an environmentally sustainable manner. At this time, we’re looking for individuals with backgrounds in sustainable materials, advanced construction chemicals and composite design.

Missouri S&T faculty are among the nation’s best in this emerging field, which is an important driver of our nation’s economy. We’re looking for experts in additive manufacturing, although candidates in other areas of advanced manufacturing will also be considered.
Additional Information - Advanced Manufacturing
This area involves the creation of ceramics and composites to withstand concentrated solar power, nuclear fusion, hypersonic flight, rocket propulsion and ballistic impact. We’re looking for individuals from the following disciplines: chemistry, nuclear engineering and physics.
This signature area intersects engineering, the social sciences and humanities by seamlessly transforming home, workplace, transportation, and energy infrastructures into “smart” environments to improve quality of life. Smart Living combines participatory sensing, social behavior analysis, data analytics, engineering and technology into one integrated concept. Positions are posted here as they are available.

Since our founding in Rolla, Missouri, in 1870, we have been educating the next generation of scientists, entrepreneurs, humanitarians, creators and thinkers. And with our research partners, we have been expanding the boundaries of applied human knowledge.
