Tenure/Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

As part of a focused hiring campaign in the area of Enabling Materials for Extreme Environments, the Missouri University of Science and Technology is seeking candidates for two positions, one tenure-track at the assistant professor level and a second mid-career position at either the associate professor or professor level.  All application materials must have position reference number (00067576) in order to be processed.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in ceramic engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials science and engineering, or a closely related discipline, with research experience in materials for extreme environments.   Experience with synthesis, processing, characterization, and/or  performance  of  non-oxide  ceramics, alloys, intermetallic compounds , or composites for use in extreme environments , such as those associated with  hypersonic flight, rocket propulsion, neutron  irradiation , ballistic impact, plasmas, etc., is desired. The appointment is anticipated to begin in fall 2017.

The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with colleagues from several science and engineering departments through the Materials Research Center (http://mrc.mst.edu/) to develop and sustain an externally funded research program. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and a commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels.
