Missouri S&T is proud to announce a leadership development opportunity titled 

 “Leading from the Middle”

Strong leadership is essential for our institution to address strategic priorities.  Effective leaders are intentional in developing themselves and actively promoting the growth and development of those around them.  

Leading from the Middle will be a ½ day seminar focusing on mid level management leadership on the Missouri S&T campus.  This is a new and exciting opportunity for Missouri S&T staff to focus on their management techniques and gain valuable information. Online Registration   

Participants of this seminar will join together to work through interactive activities and group discussions to help understand their role and impacts as a supervisor.  A planning exercise will be conducted to help identify topics considered of highest importance.   Seminar Agenda    These topics will be the focus of three follow-up sessions planned to reinforce and encourage action for implementation.  The follow-up sessions will be 60-90 minutes each and will be scheduled for August, October and February.

Instructor:

Dr. Marc Frankel,Senior Consultant at Triangle Associates will facilitate the event. Dr. Frankel is currently involved with the President’s Administrative Leadership Development Program (ALDP) and Academic leadership Institute (PALI) programs. This experience working with system-wide administrators provide unique insight to the hierarchy and challenges leaders and mid-level management face within higher education. 

This training seminar is developed by the 2007 Administrative Leadership Development Program class.  ALDP is part of the President’s Academic Leadership Institute, an effort to provide leadership development opportunities and ongoing support to academic and administrative leaders on all four campuses.
