The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Engineering and Computing and reports directly to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership for one of the nation’s premier engineering colleges.
- Advance excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain outstanding faculty and staff.
- Expand externally funded research and scholarly impact.
- Strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration across colleges and research centers.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with university priorities.
- Lead budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning.
- Foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization.
- Strengthen relationships with alumni, industry, government agencies, and donors.
- Promote diversity of thought, academic excellence, collaboration, transparency, and shared governance.
- Represent the college regionally, nationally, and internationally.
