Request a Part Time or Temporary Position

When requesting a temporary or part-time position number, an approval email will need to be sent from the requesting department to the college/division leader for approval before being sent to Human Resources msthrsupport@mst.edu for assessment. The following information will need to be included in the initial email being sent to the college/division leader:

  • Expected duration of position
  • Explain why filling the position is essential
  • What core functions is this position responsible for?
  • Funding source (chartfield string)
  • Salary information (budgeted salary range)
  • Job code
  • Department ID (ex. RHUMNRES)
  • Who the position reports to and their position number
  • Hours per week

Classifications will be processed in the order received. This process can take a few days to several weeks, depending on the type of position.
